Dr. Beeler has over 20 years of industrial and management experience in international research & development (R&D), transfer of technology, technology management, technology assessment, technology marketing, patent management, management of innovation processes, business development, start-up & venture management, financing & venture capital
management and turnaround management. Prior to founding Dr. Franz Beeler & Partner, he held various senior management positions related to technology, innovation and general management: Head of technology management of a multinational telecom corporation, Chief Technology Officer of an international technology company, and head of patent department of the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property.
Industry & Business experience in the following areas: IT/Telecommunications/, multimedia technologies and applications, media/entertainment, (micro-)electronics, nano-technologies,
photonics/optics, sensor technology, robotics and electrical engineering, computer simulation, mechatronics, system technology,
automation,
internet/e-business, biotechnology and new energies.
Dr. Beeler had a pioneering role in the introduction and implementation of the methodologies of technology management using transfer of technology and know-how from the outside. In order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of innovation processes in enterprises, he developed a Technology Management Concept, which in the last decade has been successfully applied to large-scale enterprises, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups of various industries and business areas.
Inspired by the fact that successful innovation projects are always sensitively related to financial aspects, Dr. Beeler focussed since 2000 on the technology impact on business of SMEs, start-up, spin-off and venture management. To improve effectiveness and efficiency of start-up businesses he introduced the idea of "Simultaneous Venturing" and developed the
Innovation & Venture Concept, which allows
to evaluate in the earliest possible project stage, if the start-up will find interested partners and the needed venture capital.
Dr. Beeler is an adviser and author of current topics in the area
of technology, innovation & venture management, e.g. co-author of "Technologie Management" (1998 Orell Füssli Verlag, Hrsg. Hugo Tschirky/Stefan Koruna). He has an extensive network of contacts in the technology, innovation, industry and venture capital scene.
