Technology-Adaptation Step 2 in the TM Process®
The second step of the Technology Management Process (TM Process®) is the so-called Technology-Adaptation. This step is introduced after in the context of Technology-Tracking (Step 1 in the TM
Process®)
the management has decided about the tracking-partner and the technology to be tracked from the outside.
The process of Technology-Adaptation can take place within the enterprise or outside, depending upon the available know-how capacities and resources of the enterprise or the company of the tracking-partner.
Previous to the process of Technology-Adaptation, a rigorous interface or cross-functional-Management of the Technology Management Project (TM Project ®) has to be verified and garanteed: (1) interface to the product development department, (2) interface to
marketing & sales department (3) interface to R&D-department. The fulfillment of the cross-functional, interdepartmental requirements is an essential prerequisite to the success of the TM Process.
A major issue within the process of Technology-Adaptation is the early
integration of an appropriate Lead Customer as a first step of technology marketing in order to facilitate the marketing of the products and/or services.
The process step of the Technology-Adaptation is structured in a clearly defined and standardized procedure, which has been developed from our years of experience and many applications to various industries and business areas. In the context of our Services, the complete documentation and know-how for the introduction and implementation of the TM Process are put at the customer's disposal.
